RULES & REMINDERS:

 

** All game slots are a three (3) hour block, beginning at 6:30 PM.  Please arrive on time so that games can start as scheduled.

 

** “RR” indicates a round-robin format.  The winners play their second game on the Varsity and the losers play their second game on the JV.  In case of a tie, the winner will be determined by a coin toss.

 

** Game times start as scheduled.  No new inning after one hour and twenty minutes (1:20).  In the RR format, Game 1 must drop dead at no later than one hour and twenty-five minutes (1:25) to allow ten (10) minutes to switch fields between games.  A complete game reverts back to the last completed inning unless the home team is ahead at the drop dead time limit.  This will allow Game 2 to start on time and also have a 1:25 time limit.  In straight doubleheaders, the game may extend until the inning started by 1:20 is completed at the coaches discretion.  Please advise the umpire of your decision on this issue before the game starts.

 

** It is highly recommended that coaches contact their opponent before a scheduled game to confirm that both teams will play as scheduled.

 

** Summer Weather is unpredictable.  It may be raining in Tysons Corner, but dry in Alexandria.  Don’t assume that the games are cancelled if it is raining in your location!

 

** All Fields have lights.  John Morris takes care of the lights at Falls Church.  I assume there is a light box at South Lakes.  The combination is usually K-E-Y.  Lights are supposed to be out by 10:30 PM.

 

RAIN LINE:  In the event of rain, you may call the FCGSL Hotline for information on the status of the playing fields.  The hotline number is 703-938-0516.  If time allows, E-mails will be sent prior to the start of play if weather will alter the schedule.  NO RAIN THIS YEAR!
